Bond oversight panel moves meetings to 5:30 p.m., forms bylaws review subcommittee

The Burbank Unified School District Measure ABC citizens' bond oversight committee voted to change its regular meeting time to 5:30 p.m. and to form a bylaws review subcommittee.
At the start of the meeting the chair announced that a poll of members favored a 5:30 p.m. start. Committee member motioned to move future bond committee meetings to 5:30 p.m.; a second was offered and the motion passed by voice. The committee also discussed that the existing bylaws currently require monthly meetings and that any change to a quarterly cadence would require a bylaws amendment.
Committee members then nominated and approved a three-person bylaw review subcommittee, listing Kirsten, Jason and Preston as volunteers. The subcommittee will meet separately, draft recommended bylaw amendments and bring those recommendations back to the full committee for a motion and vote.
The chair said the subcommittee will report to the bond oversight committee next month and, if changes are recommended, those changes would then move to the Board of Education for final consideration.
The committee set the next meeting for April 15 and adjourned at 6:59 p.m.
