Dickson County Commission approves grants, zoning changes and routine business in March meeting

At its March 16 meeting the commission unanimously approved two emergency-response grants, adopted a sanitation receivables policy, authorized budget amendments (except schools), approved two rezonings, appointed an economic development director, accepted quarterly financial reports and approved a slate of notaries.
The Dickson County Commission on March 16, 2026, met in Charlotte and approved a series of routine and substantive items by unanimous aye voice votes.
Motions and outcomes at a glance: the commission approved the February 17, 2026 minutes (motion by Commissioner Mike Petty, second by Commissioner Carl Buckner); appointed Mrs. Terry Malone as Economic Development Director (motion by Commissioner Ray Ledger, second by Commissioner Dwight McIllwain); accepted Quarterly Financial Reports for all county funds except schools (motion by Commissioner Cindi Gray, second by Commissioner Becky Spicer); and approved a slate of local notaries (motion by Commissioner Carl Buckner, second by Commissioner Becky Spicer). Both resolutions passed by unanimous aye voice votes.
On policy and budget matters, the commission adopted Resolution 03-2026-02 authorizing the Sanitation Board of Dickson County to annually remove certain delinquent solid-waste disposal fees and related penalties from its active accounts receivable (motion by Commissioner Mike Petty, second by Commissioner Danny Williams), and adopted Resolution 03-2026-03 to authorize amendments to all county funds’ budgets except those established for schools (motion by Commissioner Mike Petty, second by Commissioner Stacey Batey). Both measures passed unanimously.
Two zoning map amendments were approved in a single vote: Resolution 03-2026-05 rezoned Parcel 028.18 of Tax Map 136 from A-1 (Agricultural) to C-2 (General Commercial), and Resolution 03-2026-06 rezoned Parcel 032.00 of Tax Map 109 from A-1 (Agricultural) to R-3 (Residential District). Motions were moved by Commissioner Carl Buckner and Commissioner Ray Ledger, respectively; both passed by unanimous aye voice votes.
The meeting closed with an announcement that the next regular session is scheduled for April 20, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.; the meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
