Superintendent highlights MedEx Academy expansion, State of the District and calendar survey

He congratulated middle school basketball teams advancing to district championships and noted the State of the District address presented Feb. 6 is posted on the district website and R1 TV on demand. He said Prisma Health has expanded the MedEx Academy at CA Johnson, which the superintendent described as becoming "the first school in the Midlands to offer the program," and explained the program exposes students to health-care career pathways.
Dr. Witherspoon encouraged participation in a calendar survey as the district’s calendar committee considers a year-round option; the survey closes Feb. 21. He also recognized career and technical education (CTE) month, school transportation staff and upcoming Hall of Fame induction events.
