The Ada County Board of Commissioners on April 7 designated polling places for the May 19, 2026 primary after the county clerk presented the new Ada County Elections Guide.
Clerk Trent Triple told the board early voting will begin May 4 and the deadline to request an absentee ballot is May 8; he said the county expects strong turnout and described two new early-voting sites at Lake Hazel Library and Orchard Park Library. "We're expecting around 40 to 50% turnout," Triple said while reviewing the guide and the sample-ballot materials.
The clerk asked the board to designate 105 polling locations for the primary; the transcript records that 74 of the 105 locations are schools. Commissioners also observed that because many locations will host multiple precincts, staff had secured 197 total polling-place assignments (several precincts share a single physical site). The board approved the polling-place designations under Idaho Code 34-302 by voice vote.
Voters will be notified of any changed polling locations by mail and can view sample ballots and assigned polling sites on the county website, the clerk said at the meeting.
