Denise Barrington, assistant superintendent of business services, told trustees that the April ratification included three electric buses but that "one bus became ineligible per CARB ruling," prompting the request to resend the purchase order so the district would not remain obligated to buy the vehicles while it reviews funding and eligibility for grants such as HVIP.
The board voted 5–0 to rescind the ratification and asked staff to report back with a needs analysis and funding review.
