Mountain Vista Elementary named a Promising Practices PLC school

Jessica Rogers, executive director with Solution Tree, presented a Promising Practices Professional Learning Community recognition to Mountain Vista Elementary, saying the school has embraced collaborative, evidence-based practices to raise student achievement. "A Promising Practices PLC is a school that has embraced, researched and evidence based practices proven to improve student outcomes and student achievement," Rogers said, describing teamwork, shared learning targets and interventions.
Rogers noted the work required to change schedules and create time for teacher collaboration and said Mountain Vista is the district’s third Promising Practices PLC school. Trustees praised the staff and administrators, thanked teachers for their efforts, and posed for a photo with the recognized staff at the meeting.
The recognition was presented as part of the superintendent’s report and the board offered congratulations; no board action was required.
