Pima County renames PAC dispatch center to honor longtime employee Selene Baker

The Pima County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on April 7 to rename the county Animal Care Center dispatch center the "Selene M. Baker Dispatch Center" in honor of Selene Baker, a longtime animal-care employee who served 20 years with the county and 13 years as a dispatch supervisor.
Terrence (Terry) Baker, Selene Baker’s father, spoke at the meeting and described her dedication to efficient dispatching, knowledge of laws and regulations, and support for field officers and the public. County staff recalled Selene’s work relocating the dispatch center and supporting officers through multiple transitions.
The board approved a motion to rename the facility and confirmed plans for a commemorative plaque to be placed at the dispatch center. The vote was unanimous.
