Bartlesville council accepts FY2024 audit after CFO reports no findings

At a special meeting April 21, the Bartlesville Civic Council voted unanimously to accept the city's annual financial statements and independent auditors' report for the year ended June 30, 2024. CFO Jason Munninger presented the report and told the council there were "no proposed journal entries, no management comments, and no findings in this audit."

Munninger said the audit team's communication had been strong and that staff appreciated the back-and-forth with the current auditors after difficulties with prior auditors over the previous three to five years. He said that cooperation helped the audit move "at a pretty good clip."

Council members raised no substantive questions before a motion to accept the audit was moved, seconded and put to a voice vote. The clerk called each name in roll-call fashion; the record shows affirmative votes from "Mister Sheeran," "Mister East," "Mister Kirkpatrick," "Vice mayor Dorsey," "Mayor Kirk" and the chair. The motion passed unanimously.

Munninger said staff expects to complete the next audit cycle on schedule, with another audit wrapped up in roughly three months, and then begin engagement for the 2026 audit. The acceptance authorizes staff to finalize any peripheral steps reflected in the audit packet and proceed with the regular audit schedule.

The council recessed briefly after the vote.
