Dysart board approves athletic director and assistant principal appointments, ratifies MOU and grants superintendent 18.2% performance pay

At the May 11 meeting the Dysart Unified District governing board approved several personnel items and a labor agreement.

Administration recommended Kevin Cashat for director of athletics; the board moved, seconded and approved the appointment. An administrator noted Cashat has 23 years in education and prior administrative and student‑services experience. The board also approved the appointment of Adrienne Perry as an elementary assistant principal at Sonoran Heights (the motion transcript spelled the name 'Adrian' but administration introduced her as Adrienne Perry and cited her experience in Peoria Unified and time as an instructional coach).

The board approved the annual memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Dysart Education Association for the 2026–27 school year. Administration characterized this year’s changes as minimal and largely wordsmithing following collaborative negotiation that begins each October.

Following an executive session the board reconvened and approved the superintendent’s year‑end performance evaluation and a performance pay award of 18.2 percent, reflecting that the superintendent had satisfactorily achieved approved goals for the 2025–26 school year. Several board members voted in the affirmative and the motion carried.
