Ottawa County commissioners approve routine claims, deposits and two Hockerville bids

MIAMI, Okla. — The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners approved routine administrative and financial business at its April 20, 2026 meeting, including minutes, an extensive set of claims across county funds, deposits and two property bids.
Chairman Mike Furnas and Commissioner Scott Hilton voted unanimously to approve the minutes of April 13, 2026 and to accept the claims presented for the 2025–2026 fiscal period. The approved claims list included payroll and operating charges across multiple funds; notable items in the packet included a District Attorney salary payment of $40,000 and a professional services charge to Red Dirt Assessments for $13,243.00. Inmate treatment invoices and routine fuel, utilities and maintenance charges were also on the docket.
The board approved two separate bids from David Frost for lots in Hockerville, each for $300. Those motions were moved by Commissioner Scott Hilton and seconded by Chairman Furnas and carried by a unanimous roll call (Furnas, aye; Hilton, aye).
Other routine actions included approval of a detention transportation claim for $224.30, authorization of the county purchase card payment and acceptance of several checks for deposit into county funds (examples recorded in the minutes include $334.82 to County Clerk Fund 1209 and an $11,000.00 payment from ACCO to District 1 fund 1102 labeled for property damage). The board also approved a blanket purchase order (#3940) before adjourning.
