RSU 22 staff told the budget committee that Riverside Adult Education — a partnership among RSU 22, RSU 26 and RSU 34 — was judged one of the state’s top performers for FY25. Nick (committee presenter) summarized slides prepared by Rebecca Cross, the adult-ed director, reporting 34 students enrolled in the high-school-completion (HiSET) program this year, with six graduates so far.
The district plans to invoice Riverside Adult Ed for about $10,000 in facility and incidental expenses because the state now routes adult-ed funding directly to the program rather than through RSU 22. That change means the gross Article 15 budget rose by about $11,589, with a net increase closer to $1,589 after the anticipated revenue offset.
Committee members praised the program’s outcomes and asked communications staff to highlight success stories in the district’s June publications.
