Council discusses cemetery fence, park road repairs and community events; approves minutes, enters closed session and approves bills

The council reviewed several operational and community items at the April 8 meeting. Planning & Zoning reported the cemetery fence needs to be staked so the project can be put out to bid. Road Department business included a suggestion from Council Member Shirl Fox to use remaining grant funds to repair the road by the new park from Center Street to the clinic parking lot.
Parks and recreation updates included thanks to Kaylie Barney and Piute High FBLA for assistance with the Easter Egg Hunt, notice that America250 awarded Circleville $2,500 for trees to be planted around town, and announcement of a community cleanup scheduled for May 11.
Procedurally, Council Member Stacie Gass moved and Shirl Fox seconded approval of the March 11 and March 20 minutes; the motion carried unanimously. Stacie later moved to enter closed session, with Kaylie Barney seconding; the council returned to open session on a subsequent motion from Stacie seconded by Kaylie. At the end of the meeting Stacie moved to approve the bills and budget variance and adjourn; Kaylie seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
