Dr. Jones told trustees the elementary school construction project "still remains on track, for completion next spring a year from now," and reviewed work completed and underway.
At the April 20 construction progress tour the board and partners inspected both the new addition and the portions currently under renovation. Dr. Jones said plumbing and rough‑ins in the new addition are complete, insulation and high‑pressure duct inspections have started, work on dumpster enclosures and concrete site work is ongoing, tile and restroom finishes are nearing completion in some areas, the sprinkler system has been installed, and the chiller startup is in progress. He also noted roof work on Building C and continuing roof projects where multiple roofs intersect.
Trustees said the walk‑throughs helped staff identify interior items that may need attention at the high school renovation, including a security vestibule, restrooms, the library and ADA access. The superintendent said staff will continue to coordinate scheduling for Barbara Johns Auditorium work and other mechanical and electrical upgrades. The project remains phased and staff said they will return with additional schedule updates as work proceeds.
