Henderson commissioners approve February financial reports, tax releases and vehicle refunds

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. — At its April 6 meeting the Henderson County Board of Commissioners approved the county's February 2026 financial report and cash balance report and accepted Assessor recommendations for pending releases and refunds.
The Assessor presented a Combined Release/Refund Report with total taxes released of $16,714.79 and refunds of $14,301.95 related to corrected ownership listings, destroyed mobile homes and other adjustments. A separate vehicle release/refund report totaling $892.68 was also approved.
Financial staff reported General Fund YTD revenues and expenditures and noted timing differences in several departmental accounts; the Hurricane Helene Fund timing and FEMA reimbursement schedule were cited as drivers of temporary timing variances. The Board approved the reports and consent items as presented.
