Council unanimously passes rezoning, mining and transportation measures; several bills introduced
Summary
On Jan. 26 the St. Charles County Council unanimously approved Bills 5455–5460 including a conditional use permit, rezoning to riverfront district, an amendment to an underground mining permit, and several transportation agreements; Bills 5461 and 5462 were introduced.
The St. Charles County Council passed a set of ordinances and intergovernmental agreements on Jan. 26 by unanimous roll calls.
Bill No. 5455 (sponsored by Dave Hammond) granted Conditional Use Permit CUP25-12 to Sunburst Properties, LLC for a manufactured home to be used as a dwelling; the council approved it 7-0. Bill No. 5456 (sponsored by Patti York) rezoned land from A, Agricultural District with Floodway Fringe Overlay to RF, Riverfront District with Floodway Fringe Overlay per application RZ25-12; it passed 7-0. Bill No. 5457 (sponsored by Joe Brazil) amended Ordinance No. 03-157 to grant a revision to Conditional Use Permit C598 for underground limestone mining to New Frontier Materials Operations Alpha, LLC; it passed 7-0. Bill Nos. 5458 and 5459 (sponsored by Joe Brazil) approved supplemental agreements with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for the Hopewell Road and West Meyer Road projects and passed unanimously. Bill No. 5460 (sponsored by Mike Elam) authorized an intergovernmental joint funding agreement with the U.S. Geological Survey for Dardenne Creek stream gauges (26NEJFA241) and passed 7-0.
Council also introduced Bill No. 5461 (a supplemental agreement for Josephville Road with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission) and Bill No. 5462 (an amendment for supplemental appropriation related to the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program and an intergovernmental agreement with Missouri Department of Public Safety Office of Homeland Security). The meeting record lists these as introductions; no final votes were taken on them.
During public comment, Arnie Dienoff thanked snow-response crews and raised concerns about county police personnel matters; County Executive Steve Ehlmann reminded the council that personnel matters are protected.
