Board hears committee reports; superintendent search committee forms stakeholder review

During committee reports, Director Carlo told the board that the Committee on Policy and Rules reported Resolution 19 for first reading, an administrative update intended to align several procedures under policy code GBGA‑R 1–5 with Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules. Carlo said the amendment was brought forward by the Facilities Department.
Carlo also updated the board on the superintendent search: the special committee met March 9, moved to create a stakeholder review committee to screen applicants and conduct first‑round interviews, and reported 536 participants in a thought‑exchange survey that produced more than 300 ideas and 14,000 ratings. Applications for superintendent closed March 20, and Carlo said the search committee expects to have a superintendent in place well before the next school year.
Director Mazurve summarized negotiations discussions, indicating two items reached agreement but adding that executive‑session matters limit what can be shared publicly. Board members thanked participating students and community members who contributed to the search process.
