The board handled several personnel and enrollment items. By voice vote the board accepted resignations for Emily Gatehouse, Cooper Gorski and Jessa Carmody and accepted a retirement with regrets.
A nomination for a coaching-related position (John Daly) was moved, seconded and approved by the board. The board also voted to authorize the chair to proceed with interim hiring activities to allow offers to be made before June so the district can fill vacancies more quickly.
On tuition and open enrollment, administrators recommended deferring a full tuition schedule until the June meeting when legislative clarity and updated cost-per-pupil figures will be available. The board did approve a specific open-enrollment request (motion carried) and discussed how possible state changes could alter tuition obligations.
On exchange students, administrators reported multiple requests; after discussing scheduling and program impacts the board authorized the administrator to accept up to four exchange students depending on logistics and host-family availability. Board members noted that historically two to three exchange students is typical and emphasized that exchange students are typically tuition-free while short-term and enrich the school community.
Board members asked administrators to provide updated cost-per-pupil and capacity information ahead of the June meeting to guide tuition decisions and any future capacity limits.
