Henderson County schedules June 3 public hearing on FY 2026–27 recommended budget

County Manager John Mitchell presented the Henderson County FY 2026–2027 Recommended Budget and asked the Board to set the public hearing. The Board scheduled the public hearing for Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
Mr. Mitchell said staff will use the upcoming annual Budget Workshop to review the proposed budget and identify Board priorities ahead of the public hearing. Chairman William Lapsley notified the Board he would be out of town on June 1; the Board approved a motion to move the regularly scheduled June 1 meeting to Wednesday, June 3, at 3:00 p.m., so the chairman could attend.
The scheduling motion was recorded as unanimous; staff will return with public hearing materials and the formal recommended budget for public review before the June 3 hearing.
