Lincoln County Board unanimously approves 2026–27 tax levy, clears routine agenda items

The Lincoln County Board of Education voted unanimously, 5–0, on April 21 to approve the 2026–27 tax levy order after the board chair opened the floor for public comment and received none.
The levy motion was offered by Mr. Cartwright and seconded by Mr. Mosteller; the clerk recorded affirmative votes from all five board members present, including Miss Burns and Miss McComas, producing a 5–0 tally.
Board members then adjourned the statutory session and reconvened in their regular meeting. The board approved minutes, accepted consent agenda items A–M, adopted recommended policy revisions and authorized payment of bills, with each action passing by unanimous vote.
Superintendent-recommended financial requests and a set of personnel items (listed on the blue sheet behind the agenda) were likewise moved, seconded and approved 5–0.
Board members discussed a bookkeeping preference: several asked that vendor totals be shown next to grouped check-line items to make the financial reports easier to review. The chair said staff would consider that formatting change for future reports.
The meeting closed with an announcement that a video recording of the meeting will be posted on the board website within five working days and the board adjourned at 7:08 p.m.; the next meeting is scheduled for April 28, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Central Office in Hamlin.
