Dundy County accepts Applied Connective assistance for State Local Cyber Grant and reviews multiple IT support proposals

Dundy County commissioners reviewed competing IT and cybersecurity support proposals from EZ IT, Applied Connective and Five Nines during multiple meetings in early 2024. Applied Connective proposed four projects (email migration, network consolidation, server integration and ongoing standard IT/cybersecurity maintenance) and offered to assist the county at no cost to prepare a State Local Cyber Grant (SLCG) application.
Applied Connective told the board SLCG funds were expected to cover roughly 80 percent of upfront project costs; the company also said it would help the county implement the grant-funded ‘‘cyber hygiene’’ work required by the state. The board unanimously accepted Applied Connective’s assistance for SLCG round two and later accepted Applied Connective’s service agreement for onboarding and support.
The board continued to evaluate other vendor proposals and scheduled follow-up meetings to compare monthly support costs. County officials flagged that any implementation dependent on grant success would be contingent on award and explicit budget approvals; no county-wide purchases were made pending grant outcomes.
Next steps: Applied Connective will assist with the SLCG application and provide quotes for the proposed projects; the county will review formal service agreements before committing budget funds.
