During opening remarks on April 3, the Lowell School Committee recognized the Daily School knowledge-bowl team for winning the city championship. Dr. Rebecca Duda introduced the team and coaches; coach Karen Miranda and coach Alejandra/Alejandro Bonia credited students’ preparation and resilience in a competitive field.
Student Nathan, a returning team member, described a close final and celebrated the Daily team’s three‑peat, calling the season a “nailbiter” and thanking coaches, principals and parents for their support. The committee congratulated the students and noted regionals are scheduled for May 6–7 at the site announced during the presentation.
The committee applauded the students and encouraged the superintendent and staff to share information about regional competition logistics with families.
The recognition was ceremonial; no committee action beyond congratulations was required.
