York County approves vendor claims, tax corrections and an exemption; reappoints Craig Hesk to Visitors Bureau advisory board

The York County Board of Commissioners approved a set of routine administrative items, including vendor claims, two tax-list corrections and a motor-vehicle tax exemption for Renewed Horizons.

Staff reported one vendor-claims correction in the assessor’s fund (a recorded entry of 92.94 should have been 96.44, increasing the claim by $3.50); the board approved the claims by roll call. During the equalization session the assessor presented two tax-list corrections: 424P for the estate of Mr. Sternberg (accelerated taxes to allow state processing after his death) and 524P correcting a personal-property filing using a submitted depreciation schedule. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved those corrections.

The board also approved an application for motor-vehicle tax exemption for Renewed Horizons for a 2018 Ford Fusion; Treasurer Megan had already approved the exemption administratively. The board moved and approved the exemption by roll call.

The board approved reappointment of Craig Hesk to the York County Visitors Bureau Advisory Board for what was described as a three-year term. A commissioner praised Hesk as a “valued member” who provides financial guidance during transitions. The motion to reappoint was moved, seconded and approved by roll call.

At the start of the equalization meeting the chair announced a permanent addition to agendas: a standing public-comment opportunity at all meetings subject to the open meetings act. The chair said the change will give members of the public an opportunity to address the board at such meetings.

All recorded roll-call votes on these ministerial items were affirmative in the transcript.
