Associate Superintendent Dante Capers said SEL has been a district fixture for roughly 15 years, with direct instruction for students in kindergarten through ninth grade since about 2016. He told the board the district has moved from isolated lessons to integrating SEL across campuses through consistent language, signage and routines.
