Scott reported that the town's 2025 property revaluation letters will be mailed on Friday, Sept. 12, after a software problem delayed the original Sept. 5 mailing. The board was told that hearings to review new assessed values are scheduled for the last week of September, 9 a.m.–3 p.m., at either Pease Public Library or Town Hall; Whitney Consultants staff will be present and hearings will be available in person or by telephone.
Scott said the delay was caused by an issue with newly implemented software used to generate the letters and that revised schedules for hearings were included in the packet. Residents with questions will be able to participate in the hearings by telephone or at either venue during the posted hours.
During the meeting the board also discussed planning and state funding developments: members reported cuts to the state's 10-year construction plan that removed several regional projects, prompting plans to notify state legislators and host a public forum on Oct. 20 at Pease Library for residents to comment on the changes to the state plan.
The board encouraged residents to consult the town website for agendas, meeting notices and Zoom information and reminded those wishing to appear on a Select Board agenda to notify Town Hall before noon the Thursday before a scheduled meeting.
