The chair told colleagues and the public that "important information regarding the marine de development project has come to our attention" and that "out of an abundance of caution, we want an opportunity to ensure that that trust is insulated from any challenges." The chair said they would "support a motion to postpone this item to a date certain to be determined by the CRA staff."
A motion to postpone was moved and seconded. During roll call, Commissioner Davis Paneer voted yes; Commissioner Gton was recorded on the roll; Commissioner Spiritis voted yes; and Chair Laneir voted yes. The chair then announced, "That vote passes four to zero." The motion’s outcome was recorded as approved and the item is to be rescheduled by CRA staff.
After the vote the chair apologized to attendees, reiterated the need to protect the integrity and transparency of the project process and noted there was no public comment on the item before adjourning the special meeting.
No new meeting date was announced; the transcript records that the next date will be "determined by the CRA staff."
