Planning commission approves Edward Jones addition at 3019 Superior Avenue; neighbor drainage concerns addressed

The Sheboygan City Planning Commission approved a conditional use permit for an addition to the Edward Jones office at 3019 Superior Avenue after staff review and a public exchange about stormwater impacts.
Elise, a city planner, summarized the project as interior renovations and an exterior addition for a finance advisory office that will serve clients primarily by appointment. A neighboring resident raised concerns that runoff from the site could flow against a garage and asked how the project would affect drainage.
Jacob Snyder of Wagner Excavating, the contractor working on the site plan, responded that pavement removal will reduce the total impervious area and that the team will design drainage improvements to ensure neighboring properties are not negatively affected. “The total impervious area will get smaller… we’ll do everything to ensure that there’s no drainage issues with the neighboring properties,” Snyder said.
A commissioner moved to approve the application subject to staff recommendations and the motion passed by voice vote.
The commission also agreed to work with the applicant on any remaining technical details and encouraged coordination with staff on final submittals. The architectural review portion for an exterior remodel was tabled separately because commissioners found required architectural drawings missing from the submittal.
