Board approves speech-language staffing increase, fuel contract and athletic-training contract; orders HVAC repair

Athletic training: The district reported that Baptist Healthcare in Louisville had given notice it would cease student athletic-training services effective after a 90-day notice period. The district evaluated alternatives and recommended contracting with Norton (referenced in discussion as "Norton and Court") to retain the current athletic trainer and continue on-site services critical for heat-index and concussion protocols. "Having somebody on site is so valuable," the superintendent said; the board approved the contract with Norton.
