Clarkdale council votes to join Purdue opioid settlement, authorizes town manager to sign

Police Chief said the funds "have been an excellent resource" and raised only an accounting risk if administrative rules were mishandled; he said Clarkdale's finance staff have managed reporting.

Vice Mayor Huntetter moved and Council Member Jones seconded a motion directing the town manager to sign whatever documents are necessary to join the Purdue estate opioid settlement. The motion carried by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript.

Council members discussed the option of administering funds locally versus transferring proceeds to a regional nonprofit; Guthrie said the council could reconsider administration if reporting burdens proved onerous.
