Senator Bill Cassidy said he had not yet seen details of a report attributed to Senator Chuck Grassley that the FBI "has apparently been spying on at least eight" Republican senators, including Marsha Blackburn, but said such a practice would be wrong if true.
"If you're talking about the FBI spying on elected officials, incredibly problematic," Cassidy said, adding that Grassley, as chair of the Judiciary Committee, would "get to the bottom of it." He described Grassley as a "bulldog" and said he would trust Grassley to investigate the claim and report findings.
Cassidy declined to offer further comment until more details are available on the allegation; the interview did not provide documentary evidence and Cassidy repeatedly said he had not seen the specifics.
