The Corsicana Independent School District Board on Feb. 23 approved the 2026–27 instructional calendar (Option B), following a stakeholder survey in which Option B received 44 percent of votes.
Miss Hall presented details: the school year would begin Aug. 12; fall break would run Sept. 28–Oct. 2; Thanksgiving and winter breaks follow district practice; and February will include two staff development days (Feb. 8–9) and one compensatory student day (Feb. 10), effectively creating a three-day student break in February. The district plans to end the school year on May 21, with graduation scheduled that week.
Miss Hall told trustees the calendar includes about 1.5 banked bad-weather days; additional contingency days (May 25–26) and April 12 (a work day) could be used if severe weather forces closures. After a motion and second, the board voted to approve the calendar as presented.
