Fletcher Town schedules public hearing on budget; staff made small revenue adjustments

Fletcher Town staff reminded the council that a public hearing and possible approval of the budget ordinance are scheduled for next week. The Town Manager said staff prepared a brief PowerPoint budget message and that the hearing was advertised.
Staff reported that the most recent property tax revenue estimate came in slightly lower than projected, prompting minor adjustments to impacted allocations, including the town's fire appropriation and capital improvement program. "We made some final tweaks based on that last revenue estimate on property taxes. So that actually went down just a very very small amount, but it did. So we adjusted everything that gets impacted by that like our fire appropriation CIP etc.," the Town Manager said.
The Town Manager said staff will present a high-level overview at the upcoming hearing and that no substantive changes beyond minor allocation adjustments were expected. The council did not take final action at this meeting; the hearing is the next step in the budget adoption process.
Staff also reminded the council of a special call meeting scheduled for June 30 at 9 a.m. to address end-of-month matters if necessary.
