Ida Public Library president outlines spring programs, membership priority for popular events

Obal highlighted a youth spring reading program in partnership with the Rockford Rivets: children who pick up a reading log on March 30 and complete it by the end of April can receive two tickets to a future Rivets game. She also described new adult offerings (craft nights, an "Ida After Dark" romance book club, a sci‑fi book club moving to Coach's Corner) and upcoming events including a Girl Scouts program and a University of Illinois Extension workshop on succulent houseplants.
Obal provided registration instructions (website or in‑person) and reminded residents of spring break activities, movie showings and the annual Peeps decorating contest (entries accepted April 7–15). The presentation was informational; no council action was required.
