Jersey City proclaims April 2026 Sikh Heritage Month; community leaders outline outreach and meal programs

Council moved and approved the proclamation by roll call. Following the vote, community leaders spoke about ongoing service projects — including regular large meal distributions — and the outreach that produced similar proclamations across Hudson County.
Arjuman Juvarya identified themselves as a pharmacist and community activist and described coordinating proclamation efforts across 12 Hudson County towns. Other speakers thanked Councilmember Tom Zupa and council members for sponsorship and invited officials and residents to participate in food‑drive events scheduled in April.
