City administration noted the city may apply for one or two capital projects per year with a maximum request of $150,000 each; commissioners discussed the competitive nature of those capital-project awards and asked staff to pursue qualifying projects if opportunities arise. A public hearing on the CDBG had been held on Jan. 16, 2024, and staff said award notifications for additional grants are typically known by May.
Commissioners asked for a clearer breakdown of the $13,700 for senior programming; staff read the packet description showing about $3,000 for senior social clubs, $4,000 for lunches and entertainment, $4,000 for senior events and $2,700 for fitness and health instruction through the community center and other partners.
The commission approved the recommended allocations on a roll call vote.
