A WIN representative identified in the meeting as Kristen reported local changes in incident counts: a 133% increase among ages 11–13 over three years, a 2% increase for ages 14–18 and a 16% increase for ages 19–24, which the speaker summarized as an overall 18% increase countywide. Kristen described WIN's prevention and outreach work in schools and its partnerships to help teens and families find services.
"We do teen dating violence prevention programs and talk about healthy relationships in the school district," Kristen said, urging awareness and county support. Commissioners unanimously approved the proclamation.
Shortly afterward, the court approved a $5,000 resolution authorizing a grant to Senior Center Resources and Public Transit for the Texas Feeding Texans Home Delivery Meal Program. The grant was presented as part of the consent calendar and passed by voice vote.
