Property owners were sent notices on April 4 and the assessment roll was open for the statutorily required two-week appeal period; Jastifer said the office received one appeal.
The commission convened as a board of review to hear appeals and, with no additional speakers at the hearing, closed the public hearing on the role. Jastifer said the commission would return on June 10 to request confirmation of the roll after any appeals are resolved.
Quote: "The special assessment role has been open for the required two weeks that began April 4th through today," Paula Jastifer said. "We have received one appeal and today the city commission convenes as the board of review to hear appeals and it is the final opportunity to file an appeal."
