Panel clears narrow procurement exception to help military installations use local contracts

Reeves said the change is limited and aimed at helping garrison commanders and installations obtain better purchasing terms and mutual aid without triggering procurement construction prohibitions. There were no recorded opponents in the hearing transcript; members voted unanimously to report the bill.
The bill will proceed to the Appropriations Committee for further consideration.
