Board hears that no policy change is needed for recreational soccer league oversight

Board members said they had asked PSBA (and later referenced TSBA) whether district policy must be changed or whether extra oversight was necessary for independent agencies using school properties. The answer reported to the board was that no policy change was required and the district is not required to provide additional financial oversight of those independent groups.
Given that guidance, the board directed Miss Dylan to work with the athletic director and the soccer programs to develop a plan for field use and scheduling. Members expressed relief that the groups had reached an arrangement (one league had merged with another), and asked staff to continue monitoring participation and logistics.
The board also confirmed it would not pursue policy changes at this time but asked staff to return with any implementation details or concerns if they arise.
