Facilities director presents deferred-maintenance priority list; focus is "warm, safe and dry"

Chris Brewer, the district's facilities and maintenance lead, briefed the board on a living deferred-maintenance priority list that compiles previous engineering recommendations and current pricing from contractors. Brewer said the list ranks projects by priority, notes work already completed (vestibules, Hagen) and will help the district decide which projects to advance if funding is constrained.
Brewer said the district worked with consultants and vendors (CMTA, JLG and local contractors) to assemble scope and cost estimates, and described a process to re-evaluate scopes where appropriate. Board members asked how priorities are set; the response was the district will satisfy the baseline directive—"warm, safe and dry"—then consider paving, playgrounds and other grounds work.
Members praised the planning approach as a tool for fiscal responsibility and equity across buildings and urged publishing the priority list publicly to engage community support. Brewer said the list will remain a living document and project phasing will depend on available funds.
