Ellitzville council approves pilot agreement to support new low-income senior housing

The Ellitzville Town Council approved an ordinance authorizing a pilot agreement with Richland Senior Housing Assistance Inc. to build low-income housing for residents aged 62 and older at 5965 North Matthews Drive and 6155 Matthews Drive.
Town attorney Darla Brown explained the ordinance’s purpose and legal form. Carson Hayes, representing Richland Senior Housing, said the project could not proceed without the town’s action and thanked the council for prior support; he noted the project would continue a long-standing tradition of senior housing in the town and that demand remains high.
The council approved the pilot agreement during the recorded meeting.
