At its Feb. 24 meeting the Monroe County Election Board considered a challenge to Thelma Jeff’s candidacy for Clear Creek Township trustee. Chrissy Gals, identified as chair of the Monroe County Democratic Party, argued that Jeff’s most recent filings listed no occupation or income and that the omission raised questions about the accuracy of the C12 disclosure for an incumbent township trustee.
Jeff responded that the issue was a misunderstanding and said, "I guess legally I'm really not employed. I'm a public servant." Penny Gins expressed skepticism about that explanation and said candidates have a responsibility to complete forms correctly. After discussion, the Election Board denied the challenge by a 2–1 vote.
The board did not provide additional sanctions or remedial steps in the transcript; the challenge was dismissed.
