In addition to the larger hearings, the commission took two administrative actions on April 2.
Final plat: Planning staff presented a final plat for Lakeside Milikin Reserve Phase 5, a second phase of a subdivision that proposes 29 single-family lots on approximately 8.25 acres and includes a discretionary temporary public-access easement on one lot. Garrett Craves, Planning and Development Services, said staff recommended approval; the commission moved and approved the plat without opposition.
Shared-housing code: Staff also presented amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance stemming from state law changes on occupancy (Senate Bill 1567). Robin Messias said the proposed code language would redefine "shared housing" to reference the International Building Code's congregate living definition, remove family-based occupancy language, require similarly sized bedrooms in such facilities, and restore shared housing as a permitted use in selected zoning districts (middle housing multifamily, mixed-use, certain multifamily zones). The commission approved the amendments and forwarded them to council for final consideration.
Both actions will be included in the City Council agenda for final consideration and any implementing regulations will be enforced during plan review and platting.
