Macomb council sworn in and approves 20-year water purchase agreement with Colchester

The resolution as read into the record states the agreement is attached as Exhibit A and that, if adopted, the mayor would be authorized to execute the agreement and the city clerk to attest it.
City attorney (reading the resolution) said the resolution "provides that the mayor and council would approve the water purchase agreement that is attached as exhibit A and would authorize the mayor to execute that agreement and the city clerk to attest the agreement." Council then moved to adopt the resolution; a roll-call vote recorded all council members present in favor and the motion carried.
The council did not reference a specific start date for service under the new agreement during the meeting. The item will be recorded in the city files as approved by council action.
