Everett Mueller, fire chief, told the Finance, Budget, and Personnel Committee the intent of Budget Resolution 07-2026 is “to carry forward $18,789 of unspent 2025 fire department funds” to 2026 so previously approved training and vehicle work can be completed.
Mueller said the funds are not a new spending request: they were authorized in 2025 for specialized training and a slide-out tray for vehicle ‘car five,’ but scheduling delays for training and vendor installation pushed the expenses past the end of last year. He asked the committee to recommend council approval so the previously approved funds remain available in 2026.
The committee moved to approve the resolution and, after no discussion, voted in favor. The recommendation will be forwarded to the common council for final action.
