The commission discussed its future membership and an anticipated vacancy at the April 8 meeting.
The Chair said personal medical issues may affect their decision to seek another three‑year term and commissioners discussed possible replacements, including outreach to the Nantucket housing/heritage organizations and named individuals. The commission noted that applications for vacancies are due around the May meeting and that applications typically enter the select‑board packet if the select board reviews the appointment; the select board or town manager fills commission vacancies.
Commissioners also reviewed an item of other business: pricing for a Boston stone. A commissioner clarified that the marble option had been quoted at $8,900 plus $500 for engraving, while the granite option (with engraving included) was $4,800 plus $500.
The commission set its next meeting for May 13 and acknowledged remote participation by Zoom for some members.
