The initiative will be linked to an open house hosted by the planning department as part of the comprehensive plan update.
On housing, members flagged that the assembly's action list mixes projects the assembly leads with items the assembly tracks; members proposed adding a column to distinguish assembly-led efforts from matters the assembly monitors. Members also discussed pre-approved accessory dwelling unit (ADU) designs that are now posted online; staff said applicants will still need construction permits and that cost estimates for the approved packages will be prepared by month-end.
Committee members also flagged homelessness-related action items and discussed whether the workplan should separate assembly-supported efforts from assembly-led projects. Members recommended clarifying lead responsibilities so future committee work can be prioritized and tracked more clearly.
Next steps: staff will prepare a deeper workplan review for May or June after the new body is seated and will provide cost estimates for the pre-approved ADU designs.
