Absecon City administrator and CFO Jessica to retire after decades of service

Jessica, the city administrator and chief financial officer for Absecon City, told the council at its Dec. 19 meeting that she will retire at the end of the month following nearly 34 years in municipal service.
"This will be my last council meeting; I'm retiring at the end of the month after almost 25 years as CFO and purchasing agent and 10 and a half as City administrator," Jessica said, describing her years of service on the planning board and in multiple municipal roles. She thanked staff, volunteers and outside vendors and said she looks forward to spending more time with family and pursuing other interests.
Council members offered thanks and best wishes. The mayor and colleagues said plaques prepared for other departing officials will be delivered to those members not present.
What happens next Council did not record in the transcript a formal interim appointment or a replacement search timeline during the meeting.
