Elementary counselors roll out community resource guide to help North Andover families

Ori said the guide will be widely distributed via school newsletters, principal communications and town channels (library, historical society, youth center), and that community organizations may email the counselors to request inclusion. The guide is a live working document intended to be updated as new programs start; counselors plan to translate materials and use S'more’s translation tools to support families who prefer Spanish, Portuguese or other languages.
Committee members praised the effort as a “one‑stop shop” for new families, suggested including maps for outdoor recreation and adding local groups such as STEMspot Lawrence, and encouraged posting the guide at town hall for new residents. The superintendent said the document supports family engagement and will help newcomers access local services.
Action: No formal vote was required; committee members endorsed the guide and asked administration to publish and promote it to the community.
