Board tables security camera proposals for Park at Fort Gillum pending police and IT review

Dominique Clauder, property manager for Park at Fort Gillum, briefed the URA on completed roof repairs, ongoing code‑compliance work and three recent automobile break‑ins at the property. Clauder presented two security proposals from Flock Security: a lower‑cost option centered on one 360° camera plus fixed cameras, and a higher option with two 360° cameras and additional fixed units.
She said the higher proposal would run about $31,500 in the first year with an annual subscription of roughly $13,500 thereafter; the one‑360 option was presented at about $28,000. “The total cost for this year would be 31,500 but then on a reoccurring basis it would be 13,500 annually,” Clauder said.
Board members asked whether the police department has staff capacity for live monitoring and whether existing city camera infrastructure could be extended. Chief Clemens and staff said PD and IT must be consulted; the board directed staff to further engage PD and IT and tabled action on procurement until those conversations occur.
Next steps: staff will bring back options after meetings with Police and IT that explore (1) connecting to existing infrastructure or (2) a patrol‑based security alternative that would avoid recurring subscription costs.
