East Troy board accepts teacher resignation, approves policies, donation and other routine business

At its April 6 meeting the East Troy Community School District Board of Education approved several routine but consequential items, accepted a teacher resignation and moved into executive session for capital and personnel considerations.
The board read and accepted a resignation letter from Cole Blandin, a social studies teacher at East Troy High School; the letter cited five years of service and an effective resignation date of June 8, 2026. A motion to accept the resignation was made, seconded, and carried by voice vote.
The board approved a $300 donation from the East Troy House Bingo Club to the district’s Angel Fund. Administrators said the gift will help feed needy families in the community.
On policy matters, the board completed final approval of a block of Neola policy updates (converted into the district’s numbering, primarily the 3000-series for professional staff and select items from the 4000s) and approved Policy 580 (guidelines for private-vehicle use on school business and student transport). Administrators noted a duplicate page-printing error in the packet that will be corrected in the online policy manual and that remaining policy series (6000s and first reading of 7000s) will return to a future meeting.
The board also approved continued participation in the Wisconsin School Nutrition Purchasing Cooperative, which centralizes procurement, storage and transportation for school nutrition programs.
Before adjourning to executive session to review bids for phase two of capital referendum projects and to consider early-graduation and staffing items, the board read notice of the spring election (April 7, 2026) and publicly thanked outgoing board member Steven Lambrechts for 13 years of service (April 2013–April 2026); a WASB recognition was read and applause followed.
The motion to adjourn into executive session passed on a roll-call vote with board members recorded as voting yes (Steve, Gail, Kevin, Anna).
